Gillian Hanna studied at Trinity College Dublin from where she graduated with a First Class degree in Modern Languages.  Since then she has worked as an actress and a translator.  In 1975 she was a co-founder of The Monstrous Regiment, the touring feminist company with whom she worked extensively for fifteen years.   Her book about the company, MONSTROUS REGIMENT: A COLLECTIVE CELEBRATION is published by Nick Hern Books.  Her essay AN AGE OF INNOCENCE has just been published in Dublin as part of the collection TRINITY TALES – TRINITY COLLEGE IN THE SIXTIES.

Gillian is currently working on two more plays by Edoardo Erba:  FAMILY FAVOURITES, and BEFORE HITLER.  She workshopped a version of Pasolini’s AFFABULAZIONE with the poet Jamie McKendrick and the director Lucy Bailey for the RNT Studio.  She is also translating Fausto Paravidino’s STILL LIFE IN A DITCH for the Teatro Ringhiera in Milan.
