THE
SHAPE OF METAL
by Thomas Kilroy
|
THE SHAPE OF METAL was first produced by the Abbey
Theatre as part of the dublin Theatre Festival, on Monday 29th
September 2003 with a cast of three women. |
|
|
|
This powerful and provocative new play explores the
life and work of a sculptor, Nell Jeffrey and her complex and
often volatile relationship with her two daughters, Judith and
Grace. As Nell and Judith struggle to come to terms with Grace's
disappearance thirty years before, they are forced to confront
the events of the past and exorcise its unquiet ghosts. This
is at once a stimulating exploration of the nature of art and
an intimate and moving portrayal of three women in one family. |
