MIDDEN is the story of
five women, from three generations. Full of humour and vitality,
Morna Regan's debut play un-picks the tangled threads between
past and present, mothers and daughters, exile and home. After
fifteen years in Philadelphia, Ruth has built up a business successful
enough to bring her home to Derry. But instead of the welcome
she has longed for, her arrival provokes instant strife, opening
old scars and revealing incendiary secrets. |

the strength of the writing is in the well-observed
family exchanges that lend an authenticity to the piece

this assured, well-made play develops its
characters and situations through witty, thought-provoking dialogue
it
slyly reveals dark secrets that remain unresolved.

Midden is about growing up, getting out, and never
quite managing to sweep up the mess you left behind.
