GREGORY
BURKE
|
Gregory Burke was born in Dumferline in 1968. Following school
and university he has, 'fulfilled a variety of vital roles within
the minimum wage economy whilst failing to accomplish anything
which would endanger the brevity of his biography!'. During 2001
he completed and eight-week residency at the Royal National Theatre
Studio. He was awarded the Critics Circle Most Promising Playwright
Award in 2002 and Best New Play at the TMA Barclays Awards, as
well as sharing the Meyer-Whitworth Award 2002 for GAGARIN WAY.

2001. Commissioned by the Traverse Theatre in association with
the Royal National Theatre Studio. Won 'First of the Firsts'
at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2001, transferred to the RNT
in October 2001 and to the Arts Theatre, West End in February
2002. Nominated for the South Bank Theatre Award 2002 and for
the Laurence Olivier BBC Award for Best New Play 2002. |
