PHILIP OSMENT

Philip read Modern Languages at Keble College, Oxford and trained as an actor at Webber Douglas. He acted with leading alternative theatre companies including Gay Sweatshop, The Half Moon and Shared Experience and then went on to work as a director and writer. His first plays were performed by Gay Sweatshop, where he was later an Artistic Director.

His play, THE DEARLY BELOVED won the Writers Guild Award for Best Regional Play, 1993 and LITTLE VIOLET AND THE ANGEL was the co-winner of the Peggy Ramsey Award in 2000.

Philip is currently writing a play for Theatre Royal Plymouth and developing a musical at Theatre Royal, Stratford East.
