THE SHAKESPEARE REVUE

22 Mar 2024

Christopher Luscombe and Malcolm McKee’s RSC revue celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The first performance of The Shakespeare Revue was on 9 January 1994 in the RSC’s Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. After that one-night show for charity, the Revue went on to play a season in The Pit at the Barbican, followed by a West End run at the Vaudeville Theatre, produced by Michael Codron.

Over the past thirty years The Shakespeare Revue has been seen in over fifty major cites around the world. In 1999 it had its US première at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre, and in 2010 its Australian première, in Hobart Tasmania, was the opening production at the Australian Shakespeare Festival.
