Thornton Wilder’s 1927 Pulitzer-winning novel is being adapted by Phillip Kavanagh, in a fusion of music and stage.
‘I knew from the very beginning that the music, which would be drawn from Spain and Peru, would help us with a sense of the sweep of the novel; that we could be really economical with the language because the music would help us convey the sense of place and time and scale.’
